Without further ado, here are the 2018 winners!

Traveler of the Year

Congrats to Kelsey C. for being named 2018 Traveler of the Year! Kelsey, an RN, BSN specializing in progressive care/step down, was Traveler of the Month for July 2018. She’s been traveling since January 2018 and works with Career Consultant Jon Laubert.

“The best part of Travel Nursing is the freedom to go wherever you want on an assignment,” says Kelsey. “It’s so fun traveling to different states, meeting new people, and having new experiences. You get to see the diversity of geography, lifestyle. and culture within our own country. I also get to learn new skills and different policies at each hospital, which helps to enhance my overall nursing knowledge.”

Kelsey won a $500 Amazon gift card and received flowers as her prize for winning Traveler of the Year. Thanks so much for everything you do, Kelsey!

Rising Star of the Year

Congrats to Nicole M. for being named 2018 Rising Star of the Year! Nicole is an RN, BSN, CNOR who’s been in nursing for nearly nine years and traveling since early 2018. She was named Rising Star of the Month for July 2018 and works with Career Consultant Travis Pond.

Nicole, who loves to weightlift and read in her spare time, enjoys the independence that Travel Nursing affords her.

“[The best thing about Travel Nursing] is the lifestyle of freedom it provides,” she says.

Nicole won a $500 Amazon gift card and received lunch catered in to her unit as her prize for winning Rising Star of the Year. Thanks so much for everything you do, Nicole!

Congratulations again to our winners and a big thank you to ALL of our incredible Travelers!

Congrats to Medical Solutions’ 2014 Traveler of the Year, Service That Inspires, and Recruiter of the Year Award Winners!

Medical Solutions is very lucky to have lots of amazing Travelers and Recruiters working with us. So when one of our internal or external team members wins recognition, you know they are truly the best of the best.

With that said, we want to say a HUGE thanks and congrats to Medical Solutions’ 2014 Traveler of the Year, Service That Inspires, and Recruiter of the Year Award Winners! Here’s a little bit about each of our winners:

Traveler of the Year

Medical Solutions Travel Nurse Jimmy C.

Traveler of the Year, Jimmy C., out exploring while on assignment.

James “Jimmy” C. is our amazing Traveler of the Year! Jimmy was the October 2014 Traveler of the Month, and he was chosen from the best of the best — our 11 other Traveler of the Month winners from 2014. (Travelers who receive a perfect hospital eval are eligible to win a Traveler of the Month award, and Traveler of the Year is later chosen from that pool of 12 monthly winners. Click here to learn more about the Traveler of the Month program.)

Jimmy is an ICU RN currently on assignment at a facility in the Bay Area — where we recently surprised him by announcing his win and catering in lunch for him and his team to celebrate. He was also awarded an iPad Air and a $50 Amazon gift card.

Jimmy’s Career Consultant Mike Leising has tons of great things to say about him and is his work, but in summary he says that “Simply put, Jimmy is the man!”

“I have been a recruiter for many years and I can honestly say Jimmy is one of the best of I have had the pleasure of working with,” says Mike. “We have come to know and trust each other, which is extremely important in this industry. He is a fantastic RN and gets rave reviews from patients and the staff! He is reliable, professional, hardworking, passionate, and has about a dozen other positive attributes that I could add to the list.”

Service That Inspires Award Winner

Medical Solutions Traveler Jenna H

Service That Inspires winner Jenna H., hanging out with her husband Adam, while on assignment in Arizona.

Jenna H. is Medical Solutions’ first-ever Services That Inspires Award winner! This award is meant to honor a Traveler who exemplifies our mantra — Service That Inspires — by providing superior patient care and overall inspirational service within their field. Career Consultants nominated Travelers for this award and it was so difficult to choose from the many excellent and deserving contenders.

Jenna is a CST (currently working as a CVOR Tech in Kentucky) who’s been with Medical Solutions since 2011 and is very passionate about working with us. She’s been in the medical field for 15 years and a Traveler for nearly seven years. We surprised Jenna with balloons, flowers, and a tray of sweets for her and her team, in addition to an iPad Air and a $50 Amazon gift card.

Jenna travels with her “wonderful” husband Adam and their “spoiled rotten” mini pinscher, Dixie. She loves getting to see new places and meet new people, and her favorite location so far has been Colorado.

“The hospital was wonderful, with great surgeons and co-workers,” she says. “My husband and I made life long friends there and can’t wait to go back someday. We also have family there as well.”

When it comes to Travelers who are just starting out, Jenna has some great tips for how they can succeed.

“Well, I work by the saying ‘When in Rome’ or do as they do,” she says. “I go into every new assignment with a completely open mind and willing to learn anything and everything.”

She also advises fellow Travelers to make a point to get out and see the area their assignment is in.

“When I find out where I’m going I look up fun facts and things to do in the area or state, and at least try to do one or two of them,” she says, adding, “Let each assignment be a chance to grow as a person and as a medical professional.”

Jenna’s Career Consultant Melissa Kersten says she is an exemplary employee, who is well-spoken and has a pleasant demeanor.

“Jenna has always been extremely professional, dependable, and someone I can count on to do anything that I ask of her,” says Melissa. “She even reaches out and acts as a mentor to other Travelers to make sure they are doing alright and offers encouragement, guidance, or feedback to hospital management if needed.”

Facilities she’s worked at have called her a hard worker, dedicated to her craft, extremely reliable, positive, attentive to detail, and one even said they’d clone her to fill all of their tech positions if they could!

Congratulations to our 2013 Traveler of the Year!

We are this excited to congratulate, Roseanna C., Medical Solutions' 2013 Traveler of the Year and winner of an iPad prize!

We are this excited to congratulate, Roseanna C., Medical Solutions’ 2013 Traveler of the Year and winner of an iPad prize!

Time Magazine may have its Person of the Year, but at Medical Solutions we like to celebrate our Traveler of the Year. This person was chosen from a very talented pool of Travelers who won Traveler of the Month during 2013.

Without further ado, we’d like to announce and congratulate our 2013 Traveler of the Year … Roseanna C.! She won the Traveler of the Month title for October 2013 and was awarded a $100 Visa gift card for that accomplishment, as all Traveler of the Month winners are. Now, for her Traveler of Year title she won a new iPad and even bigger bragging rights.

Roseanna has been in nursing for 30 years (wow!) and has traveled on and off, all across the United States, since 2000.

She says that she was in “total shock” when she got the call saying she was chosen as Traveler of the Year.

“I have met so many wonderful nurses. I never expected to be given such an honor,” she says humbly.

Roseanna is currently working Labor and Delivery at what she says is her all-time favorite assignment at a hospital in the greater Bay area in California.

“I absolutely love the staff, who have become dear friends to me,” she says. “I am happy to say that after 30 years in nursing, I still love my job … There was a time that I began to feel a little stagnant at work. But I decided to travel and everything became new and fresh and exciting again.”

Roseanna wants to thank her hospital along with “Medical Solutions, Kris Cannon, and Kelly Baker … for helping celebrate a wonderful year! It’s all because of you!”

And Roseanna, we want to thank YOU! Words don’t express the importance of your dedication to nursing and patient care. We are very proud to call you a Medical Solutions Traveler.

Congrats Travelers and Recruiters of the Year!

Congrats to Quinn, Marla, Jenifer, and Jackie!

Congrats to Quinn, Marla, Jenifer, and Jackie!

We are so very happy to congratulate Medical Solutions’ four winners for Healthcare Traveler magazine’s Traveler and Recruiter of the Year awards for 2013.

Our Traveler of the Year winners were Quinn Anthony and Marla Preader.

The magazine wrote that it chose Travelers who exhibited “flexibility, dependability, loyalty, professionalism, and an adventurous spirit.” Marla and Quinn definitely fit that bill — as do so many Medical Solutions Travelers!

Marla-Preader-Medical Solutions

Marla

Marla is an RN whose specialty is Operating Room. Her Career Consultant, Jake Zoucha said, “Marla is a Traveler that I have developed a strong respect and admiration for over the past year. She’s an excellent nurse that has proven to me that she can come through on the other end with the same positive attitude.”

Quinn Anthony-Medical Solutions

Quinn

Quinn is an allied healthcare worker whose discipline is Catherization Lab. His Career Consultant, Jackie Sleddens said, “[Quinn] consistently has a positive attitude and is a great representative of Medical Solutions.”

Healthcare Traveler magazine wrote about the importance of trust in successful Traveler-Recruiter relationship, adding that some good qualities for a Recruiter to have are a “willingness to listen, capacity to empathize, and the desire to help when things get sticky.” All Medical Solutions Career Consultants embody those qualities, but let’s hear it for the best of the best: Our Recruiter of the Year honors for 2013 went to Medical Solutions Career Consultants Jenifer Lyman and Jackie Sleddens.

Jenifer-Lyman-MS

Jenifer

One Traveler called Jenifer, “by far the best Recruiter I have ever worked with,” adding, “She is professional and personal.”

Jackie-Sleddens-MS

Jackie

Another Traveler called Jackie “a step above the rest” and complimented her super organizational skills. This is Jackie’s third win in as many years!

Congrats to the Medical Solutions winners, and thank you all for the important work you do that all ends up in excellent patient care in the long run! Click here for the full Traveler list and here for the full Recruiter list.
