Many thanks and congrats to the August 2016 Traveler of the Month, Christine O., and also our Rising Star winner, Lora C.!
Traveler of the Month Christine is an RN, BSN specializing in NICU. She works with Career Consultant Mike M. and is currently on assignment in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii! Christine has been in nursing for six years and traveling for one year.
Even though she’s living the life so many dream of in the literal paradise of Hawaii, Christine says that picking her favorite location is tough.
“I’m loving Hawaii for the location, but Delaware was awesome due to the people I worked with,” she says.
Instead of a car, Christine just bought her first moped in Hawaii to get around town and explore.
The thing she loves most about Travel Nursing?
“I get to travel the globe for my job!,” she says.
Christine offers some great advice for newer Travelers:
- Ask a lot of questions of other Travel Nurses.
- Research, research, research the places you’re considering.
- Have fun and don’t be timid!
Thanks for your hard work and awesome advice, Christine!
Rising Star Lora is a PACU RN who’s been in nursing for six years and works with Medical Solutions Career Consultant Sapan S.
Lora just finished her first Travel Nurse assignment in Providence, Rhode Island — which she found to be a fantastic location.
“I loved the teamwork and skill level of my coworkers,” she says. “Plus, it was a nice city and area to explore.”
Lora loves playing outside, and fittingly, she’s been a Grand Canyon River Guide for 23 years! She has an eclectic batch of interests — for example, she also plays old-time string band music on both the fiddle and the banjo.
Lora also loves the freedom and exploration that come with being a Travel Nurse, plus she loves constantly learning new things as she goes.
“I love to travel and explore new areas, learning new things professionally and regionally,” she says. “I also love the flexibility and meeting new people.”
Lora advises new Travelers to: “Keep a great attitude, always offer the best nursing care, and be genuine and be yourself.”
The Travel Nurse life is lucky to have ya, Lora! Thanks for everything you do.
Congratulations again to the Medical Solutions August 2016 Traveler of the Month and Rising Star! Christine and Lora, we are so grateful for your amazing skills, dedication, zest for adventure, and commitment to providing top-notch patient care!
